I have an American Standard Freedom 80 two stage heater/air

Customer Question

I have an American Standard Freedom 80 two stage heater/air conditioner-when we got home last night we had no heat. I opened the lower panel and there is a blinking red light. Is there anything I can do to try to turn on the heat? Our heater a-c maintenance contractor cannot come until Sat at 2 pm
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?
Customer: We moved the thermostat settings up to 79 and still only got the fan, no heating- The lay maintenance service was 11/9/16
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Last maintenance Svc only 2 Wk's ago - he said it was fine-cleaned the filters too
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I would prefer to have a contractor come out today to replace a part if needed. E.g. Blinking red light- first repair Svc I called could not come until end of day tomorrow

Thank you.

do you mind a test at the thermostat? It involves removing the thermostat top section and jumping 2 wires together.

Customer: replied 8 days ago.
We have had this unit under ongoing maintenance Svc 2x each year -the last service was 11/9.

Is there a manual I can download to see this test? wires are wrapped together and I don't want to break them pulling them apart
