Your transmitter should have a remote/ on switch , put it to on and see if it starts

If not there is 2 wires from transmitter that goes to the gas valve, take a small wire and bypass those 2 wires together.
It should lite up
If it does then you will need a new remote kit

Internal electronics of transmitting device is defective and that is why is works manually and is not repairable, this is not uncommon the only step is to replace remote kit.
