I've installed a new thermostat for my 30- year Presidental

Customer Question

hi pearl,
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: I've installed a new thermostat for my 30- year Coleman Presidental gas furnace. I've had a hell of a time getting the furnace to go from just the pilot light lit to getting the furnace going to heat up my place. I thought by replacing the thermostat that would solve the problem.
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?
Customer: Filter is clean, thermostat setting at 75. Pilot light is lit & blue. But not the burners... What do I do? It's 12:15 & I've been at it since 6 this morning. What else can be done?
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I don't know, what is the next step in diagnosing this problem?
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: The pilot light is lit, the burners are not firing, a new thermostat is installed & is set at 75. I've moved the lever up to 80, then down to below 60, then up again, & hearing a click in the thermostat . Have I skipped a step or is there any thing else?
