How do I get access to the fan motor in a horizontal

Customer Question

How do I get access to the fan motor in a horizontal waterfurnace geothermal unit?
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat? And what about the unit's filters?
Customer: Fan makes a rumbling sound and goes off with a low air flow fault
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I would like to
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: No, compressor runs, loop pump runs. all I need is to be able to get to the fan to see what the rumble is. I don't know if there is a bad bearing or motor

I am unable to find a drawing of your particular model to show the internal parts.Below is a picture of a similar model that will give you an idea. The squirrel cage (blower housing has the be completely removed, set screw taken off of shaft on blower wheel and bracket holding motor slides out.

Again this is not your exact unit but will give you an idea. You will locate by removing panels.

AS a rule it will be hard to find step by step instructions as far as details about which screw to remove as manufacturers anticipate these things being done by professional contractors. I am also going to send a link to blower motor replacement in a furnace.Again it will be different from your unit but hopefully sufficient to give you the idea. Let me know if this helps. If not I can opt out or request a refund of your deposit.
