The E23 indicates the NEST is not receiving power . Make sure there is 24 volts between R and C from furnace transformer and that the R wire is secure at the thermostat
If that is all good, tell me what wires you have currently on the Nest
Lets try moving the wire at RC over to RH.et me know if that corrects problem

Ignore the call request and we will continue here. OK so after moving the red to RH you get a different error?
OK both of those erors are indicating we do not have power from furnace. Did you verify with a meter that you definitely have 24v between RC and C as I asked earlier?
OK based on the Nest Pro troubleshooting guide, the thermostat is not sensing power from furnace. Look in furnace and see if maybe the little 3 amp fuse on board is blown.
No that is the zone panel. The fuse and board we are looking for will be inside the furnace mounted on blower housing.
If you are going to call someone, you can look in local phone directory for heating and an air conditioning contractor. Also you can go to the website below to locate a dealer who will be familiar with the Nest.
