Wow that sounds like a real oldie. Maybe an old GE?

Tell me about the valve.Has it been working with the 36C or where is that coming from?

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
It's a trans 1985 it was working fine before my question is the the valve looks like I have to instal an igniter
Expert:  airheatman replied 30 days ago.

Yes that furnace should have an ignition control, see below

Expert:  airheatman replied 30 days ago.

Do you see the ignition box on the unit?

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
what are you saying that I need a new valve plus an ign control
Expert:  airheatman replied 30 days ago.

I do not know if you need either since I have not done troubleshooting. I am saying the furnace should already have the ignition control on it. If you have determined valve is your problem you should not need the module.New valve will work with your existing control.

Is the val08898 going to work with a pilot light and it doesn't have my furnace mod number
Expert:  airheatman replied 29 days ago.

Lookclosely at model and give it to me again. You posted Bld080f986b

The number folloing the f9 usually represents tons of ac it will accommodate (EX 24 =2 tons or 24K, 36= 3 tons or 36K etc)

the 86 does not devide aby 12 which a ton of ac is 12K
