Some water droplets fall straight down from a coil instead

Customer Question

Some water droplets fall straight down from a coil instead of running down the coil to where the drain catch is.
JA: How long has this been going on? And how severe is the problem?
Customer: Don't know how long. Unit is only a year old. Was told about it when it had its annual service a month or so ago and tech thought some flattened duct in the ceiling was the cause. Didn't have the problem with the Lennox unit but had to replace due to a coil failure. New unit is a trans.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Probably not unless its an easy fix.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Nope

Hello, there are two causes for that. 1. a dirty coil. 2.insufficient air flow across the coil. Look those aspects over see what you can find... something as simple as a dog hair stuck on the face of the coil can divert water off of the face of the coil.
