Hello,My name is ***** ***** I will do my best to assist you. I am looking over your question now and will respond shortly.
after unit starts...do you hear gas valve click and then again 3 seconds later?
You have a cracked hot surface ignitor. Do you know where/what this is ?
It is the easiest fix you can do on a furnace. Locate hsi in front of burner...remove and replace. This ignitor will be available from any local dealer.
the wall hung water heater for hydronic heating
Several different formats but overall operation is same...there is a series with spark ignition instead of hot surface...
You are correct. I would check to see if it will spark to ground...like checking old spark plugs...odds are it is the spark assembly.....but if no spark it is the board at other end of cable.
ok did you do this during the start up 3 seconds of gas period?
this part will only spark for 3 seconds...so you will need to run it through a start up with cable close to a ground to see if it sparks for the 3 seconds
the one should be thicker than the other 2.
that is why we test the spark to ground....there is a series....board determines spark time and sends power to transformer. so it becaomes which..BUT...many times you can sand and clean the spark assembly and get it working well.
The problem with this model is getting parts....unless you are lucky enough to have a local distributor
I really wish you the best. Hopefully you will get the spark going...that is the only issue now
