My carrier model 58 furnace (just purchased home -

Customer Question

Hi! My carrier model 58 furnace (just purchased home - forclosure, had been sitting more than 2 years.... I am just firing it up. I get code 23 when I turn the heat on. I checked the pressure lines.... whats next? Anything more common to happen when its been sitting unused that long?
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?
Customer: yes turned temp 70, 80+. Fan auto and on. filters are month old
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: for now, yes. I took the pressure valve off... I could hear it open when I blew into it. It does open
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: When running the AC, it always seemed loud (we only used it a couple weeks). When on (fan on or auto) it was always running/loud.

Code 23... pressure switch did not open

1- You will need to check your exhaust and intake pipes for obstruction,

2-check to see if there is a water build up in your condensate tubing

3-check power venter fan for proper operation

Did you fix the problem?
