I have an older Bryant unit, date code 07-88' model#568EJX030000ADAA
Cooling fan does not start up by itself, will if I assist it. Replaced the round black capacitor, didn't help.

This means the start windings are bad in the motor. Usually you are correct and it's the cap...but if cap fails it is a bad winding requiring replacement motorBilly
