I'm trying to install an RTH221b thermostat but i'm running

Customer Question

I'm trying to install an RTH221b thermostat but i'm running into all kinds of problems
JA: Just to clarify, do you think this is a larger HVAC problem, or something specific to the thermostat?
Customer: just to the thermostat or my inept attempt to install it. :)
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes, with a friend
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: we have 5 wires coming from the wall... two red, one green, yellow and white. The house has central a/c and forced hot air using an oil fired furnace for heat. system worked fine with old round style thermostat

Hi I'm Brian and I'm here to help!

Can you tell me how the five wires were connected to what terminal letters on the old thermostat please?

Also, can you tell if the red and the white wires are in a separate cable from the other red, yellow and green wires?
