Have HVAC Questions? Ask an HVAC Expert for Answers
Hello,My name is ***** ***** I will do my best to assist you. I am looking over your question now and will respond shortly.
ok was the filter pretty dirty to where it could have restricted air flow?
ok first thing...on the front wall above burners is a credit card sized flat plate with 2 wires...the limit...first tapp that plate a few times...then press center button on 2 roll outs above burner
a different view here
Then tell me if 4 blinks still present and we can try next step
I apologize but I am not currently configured for phone contact
do you still have 4 blinks?
Also you can post a pic of what you see and I can mark with directions
remove the 2 wires from the front wall limit switch that you tapped
put the wires directly together metal to metal....turn on and tell me if blinks stopped
does this furnace blow air upward or downward?
Because if you follow the wires from the limit...a downflow has another limit in the blower section
another side view...lets put the wires direct together as if switch were not there.
4 blinks stop?
ok, then there is another limit in series. Can you follow those wires both directions and tell me if it goes to another limit other than the 2 roll outs?
The issue is 4 blinks means it overheated and tripped a limit.
You pressed the roll outs firmly and checked the proimary but there is another you can find by following the wires....you can bypass it to see if the 4 blinks stops..press a center button if it has one..
The just respond when you can
Here is the blink chart
Here is a manual
If it works out for you just rate service to close...and if it still has 4 blink just respond and let me know.
did you look in the blower section?...did you follow the wires from the limits to see if they led to another? The switches are one after another so you can follow wire switch to switch...this unit has an option for blower limit. I asked earlier but do not recall you answering....is this an upflow or downflow?
yes it blows because limit is tripped in the series.
See secondary limits in blower section HERE
correct...like the pic I sent.
no that is not normal.
Can you take pics and post of the blower section?
If you traced the wires switch to switch it would lead to the blower limit.
Power starts at the board that blinks....goes to rollouts, limit on front wall then to blower limit and finally back to the board...
I really wish you the best on this project
