Welcome to Just Answer, my name is ***** ***** I will do my best to help you with your issue. First I’ll need some more info so I have a more complete picture of you situation.

Is this a gas or oil fired boiler?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
oil boiler...
Expert:  Rick replied 2 months ago.

You're burner needs a tune up and the boiler needs to be vacuumed out. Oil burners should be tuned up every year (2 years at most). Vacuuming the boiler is part of the tune up service.

Could it be done by myself?? I don't have any knowledge regarding boiler??
Expert:  Rick replied 2 months ago.

A tune up should be done by a trained burner tech. This is not a job for someone with no experience. Besides extensive training the burner tech has very expensive test equipment that is required to properly adjust the burner.
