My heat pumps motor went bad so we changed it out for a new

Customer Question

My heat pumps motor went bad so we changed it out for a new one. Now that it's been put back together and running. It's blowing warm air. What could be wrong?
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?
Customer: I do know the filter is pretty dirty, but could that possibly be the reason it won't blow cold air?
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes, a relative changed out the motor for us
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: It made a loud noise for several days than finally stopped working. We put the new motor in and started it up. It works, it's quiet but it won't blow cold air.

Hello and welcome to Just Answer my name is ***** ***** I will be the one who will try to assist you if possible today. So the first thing you are going to need to do is to check the pressures on the heat pump outside and make sure the compressor is kicking on, on the outside unit. I am not sure if you have worked on AC's before?
