My Honeywell chronotherm III thermostat needed new

My Honeywell chronotherm III thermostat needed new batteries. I replaced them. Now the display shows "Hold -AC" and my air conditioning unit for my first floor won't kick on.

Do you have a meter for checking voltage at furnace?

No i don't but it was working fine until I replaced the batteries. I must have done something when I replaced them?

If there are little pins on back of thermostat that plug onto subbase make sure they are all straight.One could have bent when plugging back in

May be coincidence but we are not getting 24v from furnace if AC is displayed, Lets go look in furnace and see if maybe there is a blown fuse on control board.
