Moved in to house today, thermostat set at 72, working fine

Customer Question

Moved in to house today, thermostat set at 72, working fine until lunchtime, all doors were open for movers so house heated up. Didn't touch thermostat. AC failed after lunchtime, fans working, no cold air coming through, AC units outside not working. Tried setting thermostat (Honeywell Chronotherm IV) to lower temp (HOLD) to no effect, checked fuse box (no effect), not sure what to do next and concerned we're going to be hot over holiday weekend.

OK if fan outdoors is not on we will get no cooling. When you call for cool does anything come on in outdoor unit or do you hear a click in outdoor unit?
