Hello. I have a hunter thermostat model 44422. The other day, the batteries died. I replaced the batteries. Now the thermostat keeps clicking and beeping. Then stops and flashes an E on the page. HELP!!! Its hot in my house and the ac unit no longer kicks on

Hello, there is a 20% chance that if you remove the batteries and put them in reverse order for 5 minutes then remove them and install then correctly that it will solve the problem/

I reversed the batteries and then installed them properly. The thermostat is still not making the air come on. All of the information is showing but the temp is flashing 84
