Customer Question

The outside fan is not coming on. Do I need to have someone come check it out, or is ther something simple that I can do?
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: 3 or 4 days
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Well, if there is something simple that can be
done
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I have turned it on/off. Turned on/off the circuit breaker. ID was abble to clean around the unit. also scraped off some crime off the unit
JA: Did you double-check the thermostat? And what about the unit's filters?

You said "If there is a call for A/C can you use a stick and make the outside fan come on?" Not sure exactly what you meant.
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
What does call for A/C mean?
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Okay it is working now.
Expert:  WCohn replied 5 months ago.

Sorry I was putting in a new front window. You have a bad capacitor. So the fan can not start on its own. Call for A/C just means its in the mode for A/C and its hot enough it should be on.

Expert:  WCohn replied 5 months ago.

It will continue to fail until the capacitor is replaced however until then you can keep using a stick.

I'd appreciate a positive rating for helping you in getting it going.
