Customer Question

We have a Heil 92% efficient furnace, model number: N9MPD125L20A2;
serial number: A114058475. It is over sized for the house which according to heating contractors needs a 90,000 BTU furnace.
My question is: is there a way to reduce the furnace output by shutting down some of its burners? Replacing the furnace will be a big job requiring to re-duct the plenum etc.
Any suggestion or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely
Haque (###) ###-####***@******.***

The 125,000 btu furnace is slightly oversized but should not be enough to cause issue.It is not recommended to block off any burners. If you do you are accepting liability of any catastrophic issue as well as voiding warranty on unit by making modifications.

It might be possible to put a plug in the place of the farthest burner from igniter and relocate flame sensor to that burner, but I do not recommend.
