Customer Question

I have a Lennox Xp14-036-230-02 heat pump unit. I have had it about 6 years and on several occasions ( most often in the spring) the unit will not work in the cooling mode. The filter was just replaced 2 weeks ago and I did blow it out today when I noticed that the unit was not working. I can set the thermostat to the cool setting but the only thing that happens is that the fan runs. I the past I have shut everything off and let it sit for a couple of hours, then it will reset itself and everything is fine. Is there a manual reset button on the unit> my old unit had one but I haven't been able to find one on this unit.

I finally got some time off to see if I can solve this problem. I checked the board and the red light is on steady.

The problem was not the circuit board. I got the unit working again by resetting the two main breakers on the furnace portion of the heat pump which is in the house.
