We need advice whether to repair or replace a Model BEA-22

Customer Question

We need advice whether to repair or replace a Model BEA-22 Vitola biferrral burner and Horicell boiler, installed in 1995. We have in-floor heating in a three-story two family house.
We have had constant problems with the ignition system, it had to be repaired every year in addition to regular maintenance visits by Copperhead.

Hi, newer equipment rarely last as long as older equipment. I'd suggest replacing equipment between 12-15 years in age and anytime a repair is going to exceed 1/3 of the cost of a new machine. Ignition systems commonly fail after not being used often as I don't know your particular situation or how long it has sat unused I would consider replacement if these expenses are becoming excess of 1/3 of the cost of replacement. I hope these considerations help. Please feel free to ask if you need more info.
