I recently found a flex duct laying open in my attic.

Customer Question

Hello, I recently found a flex duct laying open in my attic. It was apparently going to be installed in my house 11 years ago when it was built, but was overlooked and has been blowing air in my attic all this time. I had someone come in and redo the bathroom ducts and that section was removed. I am now wondering if removing this duct is a problem for my system, because it reduced the number of ducts originally planned for this house. Is there any way to figure out if this is the case and how to correct it?

It's a 1 1/2 story. The upstairs has its own units with no problems. The work was done on the 1st floor unit/ducts.

That gives you a total of 200 sq/in for air flow The system will do just fine, if you want to keep than run, instal it to a room that lacks air flow

The run is gone. It was removed last week. It was never installed anywhere.

AC is oversized, should be max 3 tonne,
Expert:  Gaztech replied 1 year ago.
It may have not been installed but it was dumping pressure anyways. IF you never had problems in the past, then check for system freeze up at the indoor coil,
