Re:NR1111OD-NG unit displays a F 76 code. Have unplugged/reconnected the unit in an attempt to reset the unit with only temporary success. Unit is producing hot water. What is the cause of the code and how to remedy it?

This is a communication error. You need to check the electrical connections (unplug and reconnect) particularly the remote cable connection
