My ruud thermostat has the terminals labeled w2, g, y, e, r, x, b, o . The w1 has a white wire, g = green, y=yellow, x has a jump wire from w2, x has brown. Should the blue wire be connected to b or o?

Are you saying you are replacing your thermostat and the old one was a Ruud? Can you tell me the make and model number of both your old thermostat and your new thermostat if you are indeed changing it please?
