Hi my name is ***** ***** I have been in the plumbing field for 20 years. I will be glad to help you today. What type of pipe are you repairing? Are you replacing the existing shut off?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Copper piping and no repair to existing

It is leaking in one room but we would like to stop it in there to get heat in there

The gator bite fitting would not be a good fitting for that application. It would be best to use compression fittings to replace any piping. If it is 3/4" piping you would need a 7/8" compression. You would need two 3/4" MIPx7/8 compression adapters and a 3/4" FIP ball valve and some teflon tape.
