Your room thermostat is the primary control for the system/zone pump. This pump will run as long as there is a call for heat from the thermostat. So it's more likely you have a bad room thermostat or possibly a live short in the wiring from the stat to the boiler or zone valve. But I need more info on your system. What's the actual model number of your boiler? how many zones do you have? if more than 1 do you have zone valves or a pump for each zone?
