I have a question on how to install a Honeywell FocusPro

Customer Question

I have a question on how to install a Honeywell FocusPro 6000 model # ***** thermostat. AC & heat pump.
I have an 8 wire systemand it looks like 6 of them are connected to the following
terminals on the old Honeywell TH4210D1005:
OLD Thermo - 9 recepticles New Thermo - 6 recepticles
E - Jumper connect to AUX G - Green?
AUX - White W - White?
Y - Yellow C - Blue?
G - Green Y - Yellow?
O - Orange R- Red?
L - No wire RC - Nothing? There is a factory jumper
R - Red between R & RC
B - No wire Orange - Where does it go?
C - Blue
So how do I hook up the 6 colored wires on the left to the new receiver letters on the right?

Give me a fe moments to type this for you

Expert:  airheatman replied 1 year ago.

Red will go to RC with a jumper to R (This is 24 volt power)

Green will go to G (This controls blower)

Yellow will go to Y (This controls contactors in outdoor unit)

Orange will go to O/B (This controls reversing valve)

White will go to AUX /E(This controls heat strips in auxiliary and emergency mode)

Blue will go to C (24v Common)

Then you will need to go to the Installer setup menu and match the thermostat to your system

1=5

2=0

3=1

5=9

6=9

7=9

Any other functions are at your discretion.

If any functions listed do not show available, this means thermostat has setup based on a previous selection.Thanks for letting me work with you.If my answer has been polite, professional,and thorough, please click one of the ratings before you go. There is NO O/B and there is NO Aux E.Please reread the original email. The only ports I have to choose from on on the RIGHT.

The Focus Pro 6110D should have the terminals listed. See page 2 in this manual. Can you attach a photo of what you have.

Ahh I see the difference now. The terminals you have match but the 6110D all except for emergency heat. This thermostat is designed for use with a conventional non heat pump system or with a heat pump without backup emergency heat. You are going to need the 6220

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What is back up emergency heat?Can I get what you describe at Home Depot?
Expert:  airheatman replied 1 year ago.

Backup heat is the heat kit. That is what the AUX and E is for. Signals elements on as backup heat to assist the heat pump, when unit is in defrost or if you choose emergency heat.

And yes Home Depot will have it. Just look for a 2 stage heat. 1 stage cool thermostat. If you bought this one there, they should exchange it if you just tell them it is not compatible with your heat pump.

Once you get it let me know and I will be happy to assist with hooking up and setting up.

You can use a 2heat/1 cool or 2 heat/2 cool whichever they have
