Amtrol well holding tank model numbers start with WX. I'm not aware of any Amtrol tanks that start with WP. What makes you think it's an Amtrol tank?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The outside of the box is marked Water Pro manufactured bu Amtrol

Ok, so what is your question?

Expert:  Rick replied 1 year ago.

It's not a discontinued tank. It may be a secondary line.

WELL X TROL is Amtrol's pri***** *****ne

If you Google Amtrol WP44SS you get some results like this
http://info.nsf.org/Certified/PwsComponents/Listings.asp?Company=02360&
Bt cant find any reference to the tank on the Amtrol website

Like I said it's likely a secondary line if it says made by Amtrol on the box. Major manufacturers sometime put out a secondary line and a lower price. What's the warranty?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Box is unopened at the moment and the guy is on another job . I dont want to pay $1000 for a builders grade tank or a tank that is no longer sold by Amtrol- possibly due to past problems . That is why i am trying to get more info

Everything you have said is correct but does not assure me this is a decent tank
Expert:  Rick replied 1 year ago.

For that kind of money you should get the real thing (a WELL X TROL) not a second tier product.

willl question the guy carefully when he returns Thanks anyway

Distributors around here only carry the top line products or a another brand at a cheaper price point. A WELL X TROL has a seven year warranty but typically last 20+ years or longer (I've had mine for 30). The "WaterPro" line is a new product line with no track record
