I just installed a Honeywell RTH2410 thermostat and my system runs 2 or 3 minute

Customer Question

I just installed a Honeywell RTH2410 thermostat and my system runs for about 2 or 3 minutes and then trips the breaker. This happens for both cooling and heating. It is a gas furnace. Thanks for your help

hello,
what color wires are on what terminals?
and was everything ok before new thermostat?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The wires were matched to the same terminals as on the original thermostat. Red green white and yellow. Yes they were ok before new.

the power for the thermostat is only 24volts.
the power for furnace is 120v
the power for ac is 240 v
and they are not tied together to same circuit....the 24v thermostat cannot trip a 120v or 240 breaker.
is this a one piece unit? or a blower inside and ac unit outside?
