I threw cooking oil out of my door and it fell in my air conditioner and it won't turn back on

Was the oil hot? If so you may have melted some wires.Can you do a visualy inspection of wiring and do you have a volt meter for checking voltage as we troubleshoot?

It's running now and no it was not hot

OK let me know if you still need help.If the oil got on the fins of outdoor coil, you will need to get some coil cleaning solution to get it off as the oil will coat the fins preventing their ability to properly transfer heat making unit work harder and cause higher power bill.
