Customer Question

I was reading your replies in the whirlpool wine cooler model WWC287BLS made by Danby. It's a dual zone cooling system. It doesn't have a thermostat it looks to have a compressor, evaporator and 2 heaters. I found a pdf print out online of all the parts labeled. The fans run but it does not cool at all. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Hello,
if the fan runs but no cool...= compressor not running
You will need to see if capacitor is good, compressor is good or if by chance the compressor is running but there is no refrigerant
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How do you test the capacitor, or do you replace it and hope?
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
you can test with a meter that has a uf (microfarad) setting.
If cap says 20uf...we want to see close to 20 microfarads.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What does it look like and where would it be located?
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
locate compressor...follow wires...the capacitor is a silver or black cannister the size of a small pop can. it can be round or oval.
