No, should the wire w2 go to aux?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It was O/W2
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
Is this a heat pump?...
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes, it is a heat pump
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Do I need to remove the jumper from r to rc?
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
usually there is an orange wire on O/B
Is o/b open?
do you have a white wire also? jumper stays
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
Ok,
the wire that was on o/w2 goes to o/b
if you have a white it goes to aux.
dont forget to program in menu for heat pump
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK, got it on white. What about the red wire that formerly went to O/W2* ?
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
o/b
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Actually it is orange
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
correct....goes to o/b.
That is reverse valve for cooling.
yellow to y
green to g
red to rh/rc
white to aux
orange to o/b
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How do I do a quick test?
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
do you mean once it is wired and programmed?

Appear to have cooling and heat backwards
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Still having trouble. Cannot seem yo get the program right so a/c comes on instead of the heay
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
ok,
what make is the outdoor unit?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Its on the roof. Looking
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
If it is a rheem or ruud we need to program the reverse valve for B.
Did you set for heat pump in menu?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have 2, 1 is a carrier puron the other is a ruud. I am working on the one with the carrier unit. Yes I did set the thermostat to heat pump
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
ok, test time..
at thermostat
take the red wire
green wire
yellow wire
orange wire
twist all together and tell me if ac comes on
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
okay I'm assuming I'll leave the white wire connected and for some reason I have a purple one instead of a green wire but I'm putting them together now. Not the white.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes, ac is on
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
Ok so red back to R
Green (purple) to G
Yellow to Y
Orange to O
if it still heats it needs the o/b swapped in the menu
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ok its still blowing cold. Did twisting together reset something?
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
possibly a bad connection?
but that wiring should be correct.
is all well for now?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Seems to be. For the unit with the ruud outside, is the reverse valve same as "changeover valve?"
Expert:  BillyHvac replied 1 year ago.
that is correct. Reverse valve is changeover valve.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
