How many millivolts are required to run a gas valve
My volt meter show the the thermocouple Is producing 198 millivolts
Does the gas valve need replacing or is it the the millivolt generator ie thermacouple

The best way to test a millivolt system is outlined here. There are a number of tests which need to be done. An "open" test, a "closed" test, and so forth. If you can perform these checks and let me know your readings we can go on from there.
