I have 30 psi on the suction side and 210 on the liquid side on 2 ton r22 system with a piston metering device do you think the piston is making a restiction

It sounds like the piston is the wrong size, or that it is clogged up, or has ice in it.
Tell me please what the inside and outside temperatures were when you took those pressure readings, and if the furnace filter was clean or not, and if the suction line at the compressor was running cool and sweating or not.
