Procom heater Model number EL250TYLA-B. Pilot flame lights but Thermostat knob does not turn to ignite heater.
Could thermostat be damaged?
Could thermostat have a child protection device?
*This heater has been working fine until yesterday when thermostat was turned to OFF position.

Yes, of course I depressed the knob fully before attempting to turn it.
This has been working fine.

There is no "lock" or tamper device on this control.
If it is not responding it is a bad control.
