At the thermostat the wiring is as follows:
White wire = W1
Yellow wire = Y1
Red wire= R
Green wire = CAt the unit :C= green wire
R= red wire
W= white wire
Y= yellow wore
G = Jumper from G to Y

The T5800 is a Venstar thermostat.

Russ here. Welcome. I am here to help. Please do not rate until you are satisfied with answer. Always available for follow up questions. What you have is not enough wires at thermostat. The green wire is used for C or common and the Y to G is jumper at unit so fan will come on. If you jumper from Y to G at unit it should work if the two wires going outside are connected to C and Y. Russ

The two wires going outside are spliced into Y (yellow wire).

Do I splice into C (green wire) as well?
Expert:  gotoman for ac replied 1 year ago.
Go outside and see if both wires are connected to unit. Russ
