Customer Question

My compressor on my carrier geothermal won't kick in for cooling. It makes a high pitched wining sound and then shuts off after 5 minutes. Then the green LED starts blinking fast. I verified that my capacitor is good (77 out 80). Don't know what is up.

Welcome! We keep going until you have all of the information you need.[b/]. Extensive training & coaching also available.

You will need a clamp around type amp meter and a set of refrigeration service gages to do the proper checks. I will need a well lit, sharply focused photo of the wiring diagram to begin coaching you.

You can attach the photo of the wiring diagram to the bottom left corner of your reply box.

I realize that using refrigeration service gages is most likely not feasible for you here, so we can try doing the diagnosis with the clamp around amp meter only. That has about a 90% chance of working.

We can go from there.
