I HAVE A GG48T06AXKOO WATER HEATER WITH A MFR DATE OF 1/28/2010. THE PILOT LIGHT AND MAIN BURNER FOR SOME REASON HAVE BEEN EXTINGUISHED. I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE WATER HEATER, BUT IT ONLY STAYS LIT WHILE THE BUTTON IS DEPRESSED. AFTER KEEPING THE BUTTON DEPRESSED FOR 2-3 MINUTES AND TURNING IT COUNTER CLOCKWISE TO THE ON POSITION THE FLAME GOES OUT BEFORE THE MAIN BURNER CAN GET LIT. CAN ONE OF THE EXPERTS PLEASE ADVISE ME THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM AND THE SPECIFIC REPAIR TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE.

Rick Mather :

Change the thermocouple it is weak and is not allow signal to gas valve to stay open for pilot and main flame

Customer:
