Wvfan79 :

Hello there! I'm Norman but you can call me Norm. Let's see what I can do to get you some answers today. I'm ready to get started whenever you are.

Wvfan79 :

Is this a red light flashing?

Wvfan79 :

7 flashes of the red light indicate a condensate overflow. May want to check the main drain line and make sure it isn't clogged.

Customer :

How do you check the main drain line. Ours is a hard pvc pipe. Can we just pour water into it and see if it runs out?

Wvfan79 :

Yes you can try doing that but if the vent you pour the water into is on the wrong side of the trap you may not see the stoppage.

Wvfan79 :

I would pull the door off that contains the drain line and snake backwards through the trap or you can use compressed air to blow out.

Wvfan79 :

One more way is to plug any drain vents and take a shop vac outside and suck the line out.

Customer :

Ok, we will try that. Right now, my husband got it working by turning off a second breaker. When he turned it back on the blinking light went away. I assume the alert will come back on when it detects that we didn't get the drain line cleaned out. Can we write back if we have trouble? How do we talk to you again?

Wvfan79 :

Yes you sure can. The overflow detection is a lockout that will shut the system down. When you have the system off for a while it is likely that the condensate drains down slowly. When you reset the breaker the system will power back up as normal but you will probably have the problem again.

Wvfan79 :

You can either revisit this question in the future, even after rating my service or start a new question if it is unrelated to this request.

Wvfan79 :

Ratings less that 3 stars are considered negative and hurt our customer service record.

Customer :

Thank you for your help! Will we have to pay again if I ask another question about the same problem?

Wvfan79 :

No, not at all

Wvfan79 :

If it goes along with this request you can return and reply to me.
