Customer Question

My trane xe90 is not lighting. The light blinks 4 times. I have already jumped the high limit switch wires and the code remains. I did the shut off for 30 seconds, turn on, shut off and back on but it goes right back to the high limit open code. The furnace will not light at all. All fans are operating just no flame.

spivco :

Hi. I'm Joe and I will be glad to help you out.

spivco :

Have you tried resetting the flame rollout switch?

Customer :

I dont know what that is

spivco :

Customer :

okay, I've seen that. how do i reset it

spivco :

press the red button in the center in

Customer :

tried that, it feels loose\

spivco :

Just as a test, never leave it like this, have you tried to jump out the wires going to it?

Customer :

tried that

spivco :

What other limits did you bypass?

Customer :

one just past the firebox, the only other one that looks like it can be jumped

spivco :

There should be a secondary limit mounted on the blower housing. normally near the back, it should go inline from the other limits, so you should be able to trace the wires to find it.

Customer :

I see that one

spivco :

Did you bypass it too?

Customer :

doing that now

Customer :

no difference

spivco :

Okay. I have to step out for a while, so I will opt out so that another expert can assist you.
