He was right. Coil was dirty

hotpoint split aircond HPS12 blows cold air only,heat mode doesnt appear to working(top unit is new)

Already Tried:
changed the top wall unit(no diff)tried various settings,other modes appear to work OK,just the heat mode

When you put unit in cooling mode does it still heat. Russ

Hi Russ,no,blows cool air(not ice cold) and as soon as you switch to heat mode the fan(motor) cuts out,fan will work in other modes except heat.

First thing is have charge checked. If low on refrigerant the sensors will shut down fan in cool. Russ

Thankyou,found gas to be low and wire had come off compressor(got Technician in),unit working well hot & cold.CHEERS Will.
