Steady light on - normal operation.
One flash - ignition failure.
Two flashes - combustion air switch stuck closed.
Three flashes - combustion air switch failed to close.
Four flashes - limit switch open.
Five flashes - gas valve energized with no call for heat.
Rapid flashing - reversed polarity.

In your case it means a switch overheated during heating cycle.
Is/was the filter plugged?

yes it is

orginal code indicated needs filter, to me it didn't look real dirty or plugged

Ok,

See page 22 here for the limits. One style is a push button reset and the other is auto reset. Sometimes the auto reset sticks and doesn't reset itself. In some cases tapping it will reset it...if not you will need to replace the switch.

The manual I sent will give part numbers.
