The evaporator coils of my air conditioner keep freezing up

This answer was rated:

The evaporator coils of my air conditioner keep freezing up so we have no air. We've replaced the filters, cleaned the coils and blew out the coil space with compressed air. We have over-size ducts (1928 home) that were blown out a couple of years ago. The only thing left that I can think of is maybe the tray under the coils isn't draining the water properly, but I'm not even sure about that. The air works great as soon as we defrost the coils, but then it immediately freezes up.

Is there something else I'm missing?

If the filter is clean and the coil is clean....and the blower works fine,
then you are low on refrigerant.

The 2 biggest causes of freeze up are dirty filter and loss of refrigerant.

Will I need to call a pro for this or is this something I can do?
You will need to call a ac company as handling the refrigerant rquires certification.

Plus they will leak test the system and repair,
