Customer Question

I have a furnace with a pilot light it is not on. That indicates the thermostat is the problem. My furnace fan will not come on unless I switch it to continous. What do I need to do to have the thermostat working again. I changed the batteries and they are working. My thermostat is a digital programable thermostat.

Optional Information:
Make : Emerson
Model : ? where do I find this

Already Tried:
Changed the batteries. There is a flame drawing that keeps blinking. I check the run schedule and the temperatures are set to the correct readings.

Heath :

Hello my name is XXXXX XX will be my pleasure to assist you. If the pilot is not lit then that is one of the possible problems the furnace pilot light needs to be lit in order for the burners to engage and heat up the furnace. Try lighting the pilot per the furnace instructions listed on the furnace. Then after getting the pilot light lit then try running the furnace in heat to see if the furnace will run.

Customer :

This is an electric furnace. They call the green light a pilot light

Customer :

The furnace is a Nortron.

Heath :

Okay sorry I will opt out because I am not familiar with this furnace.

Take the cover off the thermostat and jump R-W and see if the furnace comes on

Customer replied431 days and 15 hours ago.

The furnace is on and will keep the right temperature if the fan is on. The problem is that the fan will not go on unless I turn on the continuous switch at the furnace and over riding the thremostat.

The connections are

C

RC RC connected to RH with red wire about one inch in length

RH RH also connected to black wire

G

W W connected to white wire

O/B

Y

Which R the RC or RH should I connect to the W?
