Hello I am here to assist you.
There are two kinds of limit switches on your furnace.
The first is the Main Limit Switch. It cost about $40
The second is a Manual Reset Rollout Limit Switch. It cost about $25
It takes 10 min. to change either one of them.
I have no information on which Bryant Furnace is the most reliable.
Yes 10 min.

I have called authorized Bryant distributor, who wants to charge $200 flat fee for the part and to replace
That is typically what any technician will charge to replace it.
That price is competitive unfortunately.
You just said 10 min
And Bryant said hour and half
One more question - if I press 'accept' and my credit card is charged
what is the charge going to be shown as - what name/vendor?
$9 Just Answer
Do you have any advice as to how to bargain for the labor of 1 1/2 hours for actual 10 min work?
Also it does take a little time to verify that the Limit Switch is the problem.
Offer him $150
He may go for it.
I have paid $98 to know what is wrong
just to come in and check the furnace was $98
Did the technician show you where the limit is located?
yes - he did
Why don't you replace it yourself?
i would rather not replace on my own - for safety
Save your self $150
You can get the limit switch here at www.AmericanHVACparts.com
Just have model number and serial number of furnace ready when ordering.
Can we ask any HVAC technician to replace it then?
Many thanks - I appreciate your help.
You are welcome.
