I just installed a Honeywell RTH2410 today. There was blue wire connected to my old thermostat yet my furnace does not have a pump, when a connected this wire I got cool air coming from the vents.
Optional Information: Make : Honeywell Model : RTH2410 Already Tried: Nothing
Do have oil heat if so it maybe the power for cooling and it gets connected to Rc then remove jumper from Rc to R or Rh
No I do not have oil heat is a gas Furnace. In the regular connection there were four wires the fifth one is the blue wire.
What coloring wires do you have this below is typical blue could be transformer common will wait to see what you have
R terminal is jumpered to Rc red wire
G terminal is blower green wire
W is heating white wire
y is cooling yellow wire
I just put the old one back.
What terminal was the blue wire hooked too
It was connected to the O/B switch. But it seems I cannot put this particular model to use. I need to buy another one.
That would be reversing valve control some require power to open for cool and some for heat
I no longer need your advice. Thank you for your help I already re-install the old unit.
