I have a Trane Taystat 241 analog thermostat that I am replacing

Customer Question

I have a Trane Taystat 241 analog thermostat that I am replacing with a Honeywell TH 6110D. I also have a Honeywell RTH 7500D as a back-up. The Trane has R, B, G1, Y1, W1, W2. The Honeywell 6110D has G, W, C, Y R, Rc. Not sure what the RTH 7500D has since it is a back-up in case the 6110D is the wrong one.

Is the Trane that I have a 2 stage heat, 1 stage cool with NO heat pump? How do I connect the wires?

You typed Taystat, is that the correct name of your original thermostat?

TRANE TAYSTAT 241 is the old analog thermostat that I am replacing in my 9 year old home.

Your going to have to use the 7500d.

Your r will now connect to r and rc on the new stat.

The g1 will now be g.

The w1 will go to the w1.

The w2 will go to the w2.

The y1 will connect to y.

B will connect to the c.
