Can you tell me what settings you have on your thermostat?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Mode, Fan, and an up and down arrow
Expert:  Kenton Guidry replied 7 years ago.
Press the mode button.

Tell me what happens when you press it.

It should cycle through your cool, heat and, emergency heat.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
When pressing the mode button the lower corners say either OFF or HEAT 38 degrees. It switches back and forth between the two every time you press mode. If you hold down mode you have the ability to chose the heat and cool tempreture but I cannot turn off the heat.

Do you have your model and brand name of the thermostat?

It is possible I could look up the thermostat.

The mode button is how you switch between heat, cool, and off.

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
All I can tell you is that it's a Carrier. I'm in an apartment without a manual. I can't call maintenance because of the holiday. I tried shutting the unit off to see if it would reset but that didn't work either.

I noticed you said your thermostat is set to 38 degrees.

Are you referring to 38 degrees F, or C?

When you press the mode button it should cycle through your heat, cool, and off functions.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
I'm sure it's 38 F this can be changed easily with the arrow up button. I can cycle through days of the week and temp settings for those by using the mode button. I don't understand why I can't see any way to switch from cool and EH heat. I can turn the fan off and on.
Expert:  Kenton Guidry replied 7 years ago.
With out a doubt the mode button is what you normally use to switch from the heat and cool functions.

Can you try to remove the face plate of the thermostat to see if you can find a model number?

If you can I will look it up and will be able to be of more assistance.

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
This is what I found. The back of the face plate saysNNN-NN-NNNN The part of the theromstat that is still on the way saysNNN-NN-NNNNand TSTATCCPB101. I hope one of these helps.

Press the mode button several times and tell me which modes it tells you that you are in.

From heat, where does the system go?

Does it cycle from heat to off?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
