First locate gas valve. Gas pipe leads to it. On top will be knob that will have to be turned to "pilot". Turn off power to furnace. Follow 1/4 aluminum tube from the gas valve , this will lead to the pilot. This is what you need to reach with lighter. With knob on valve turne to pilot position, pressdown button, this will let a small amount of gas go through pilot tube. Light the pilot and continue to hold down the button. Hold down for at least 45 seconds with pilot lit. Then release button, turn knob to "on" and turn power back on.
