hello my horse has what i think is lice (small grey/white flea like) and eggs how can i treat this? i was told (Dermcare-Vet Malaseb Medicated Shampoo) .. i have never seen this ever before on any of my horses i have 6 individually stabled but none are infested other than my gelding i feel so sorry for him pease help ... i only noticed when had hair loss on his belly from itching it against the tree

If the horse has lice I would bathe the horse in a pyrethrin insecticide based shampoo or any other shampoo that has an insecticide in it. This will help remove some of the lice. You cannot use a shampoo as the only means of lice control.After bathing you will need to treat with an insecticide spray or pour on to have some residual insecticide to control any new lice that hatch out. Follow the package directions for using either a spray or pour on.
